October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and here at FDU, we are taking this opportunity to emphasize the importance of online safety and to equip our community with the necessary knowledge and tools to protect our digital infrastructure and personal information. Cyber threats are continually evolving, and our collective effort to be vigilant and informed can make a significant difference in our ability to safeguard our institutional data, personal information, and overall digital safety.

What You Can Do:

Stay Informed: Participate in workshops, seminars, and read materials we distribute. The more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to identify and ward off threats.

Be Suspicious: Do not click on links or download attachments from unknown sources. Always double-check the authenticity of an email, especially if it requests personal information or payments.

Use Strong Passwords: Strengthen your passwords by making them complex, using a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. Consider using a password manager.

Report Suspicious Activities: If you come across anything unusual or receive suspicious emails, please report them to the IT department immediately.

This month is not just about learning but also about sharing. Talk to your peers, students, and colleagues about the importance of cybersecurity. Share tips and resources, and together, we can create a more secure digital environment at FDU.

Thank you for your attention and commitment to making our university a safer place, digitally and otherwise. Remember, cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and we all have a role to play!
