Spam Filtering Changes

The University will be implementing spam filtering changes which will affect the flow of potential spam emails to FDU faculty and staff. By Wednesday, email accounts will no longer receive a Quarantine Summary email. Additionally, you will no longer be able to use Google Message Center as a way to deliver emails that were quarantined as spam.

Many of you will begin to notice an increase in the number of emails delivered to your Junk Email folder, as it will begin receiving previously quarantined messages.  It is important to note that this is simply a change to where spam is held and it is not a change to which messages will be delivered to your Inbox.  Since no spam filter is 100% effective, we recommend that all users review their Junk Email folder on a daily basis.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our University Technical Assistance Center at (973) 443-8822.
