Update: Wireless Upgrade Project

November 1, 2022

Last year, we installed our new generation wireless network in the Florham Residence Halls, most of the Metro Residence buildings, the School of Pharmacy, and a few other Florham Academic and Administrative buildings. Our progress was then abruptly halted by the pervasive supply chain issues that we all become familiar with. After 8 months of waiting, the remaining access points to complete the project have arrived.

Starting the week of November 14th, my team and our vendor will be completing the Network upgrade in Florham. When complete, we will turn our attention to the Metropolitan campus, with plans to complete the project by the end of the calendar year.

You will begin to see members of the team installing access points in the following buildings:

  • Science Building
  • Stadler Zenner
  • Rothman
  • East Cottage
  • West Cottage
  • Library Annex
  • Public Relations
  • Chaine House
  • Fergusson Recreation Center
  • The Barn
  • Wellness Center
  • Gate House

Some users may experience intermittent wireless connectivity issues for less than one hour as we upgrade your local access point. Wired connectivity will not be impacted. As always, we will attempt to conduct our work with as minimal intrusion on workspaces as possible.

USAN is very interested in addressing issues related to this project. If you experience an issue with your wireless connection, please contact the University Technical Assistance Center at (973)-443-8822 and ask them to direct your ticket to USAN.
