WISP Compliance Notifications Resolved
- May 1, 2023
Over the past few days, we have kept the community informed about a notification issue related to our Written Information Security Program (WISP). This issue has now been resolved, and our community should not expect any further inaccurate notifications from FDU IT Security Training or UTAC regarding this matter. Additionally, training.fdu.edu, which was temporarily taken offline as the issue was addressed, is now up and running.
Despite the circumstances, this is an opportunity to remind our community of the value and importance of our Written Information Security Program and the associated training module. As a higher education institution, members of our community may be required to access Personal Information (PI) and Personal Health Information (PHI). Our WISP outlines the appropriate means of handling this data. Due to the critical nature of this program, our faculty and staff members must complete a simple self-paced online training course called Understanding the Written Information Security Program once every two years. The course takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and is available via training.fdu.edu.
To see your current WISP training compliance status, simply log into training.fdu.edu and click on Understanding Written Information Security Program. From here, you can see the most recent date of completion and, if needed, retake the course.
As always, we will send a notification two weeks before you fall out of WISP compliance. Going forward, we will send an additional daily notification to any user out of compliance.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you experienced from the excess notifications. If you have any questions or concerns, please visit SAMI Support, where you can request additional information from UTAC or search our extensive IT knowledge base. While SAMI Support provides the quickest and easiest access to IT support, you can always contact UTAC by phone at (973)-443-8822 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
