Introducing Crowdstrike (Important Update for Both Metro and Florham)

Update

Crowdstrike has already been installed on many Metropolitan Campus Desktop PCs, and most laptops delivered through the Refresh Program. The update of the remaining PCs which had been scheduled for this morning at 6AM has been delayed by a few hours.

The software will now be installed on Desktop PCs connected to the Florham Campus network, as well as any non refreshed laptops on both campuses between 10AM and 11AM this morning. This update should only take approximately 10 minutes and the entire process is explained below. Thank you for your understanding.

If your PC is not powered on and connected to the network, the process will begin upon your next connection to the network. If you are off campus, the installation would occur the next time you connect to the FDU VPN. The installation requires a reboot of your computer, and cannot be stalled, delayed, or avoided, so please be prepared to allow the process to occur when you first log into your computer. The total process should take less than 10 minutes.

When the installation is ready to begin, you will be asked to close all applications and Click “OK” to proceed. Since your PC will automatically reboot once the installation is completed, we would advise against conducting work during the install.

The window below will provide the progress of your install. We ask that you do not interrupt the installation once it has started. Once the PC reboots, you will receive a notification that the upgrade has been completed. Crowdstrike will now run as an unintrusive background process without any further action required.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you encounter any issues with the installation or if you have any questions, please contact our University Technical Assistance Center at (973)-443-8822.
