Wireless Upgrade Project Update

As part of our ongoing wireless network upgrade, USAN has been installing new wireless access points in the academic and administrative buildings of the Florham campus. Since our previous update to the community, work has been completed in the Dreyfuss Building, Monninger center and the library. Our expectation is that both the Mansion and Student Center will be completed by the end of the week. 

This week’s schedule is as follows:

Mansion: Monday 2/7 through Wednesday 2/9

Student Center: Wednesday 2/9 through Friday 2/11

Members of FDU’s networking team, along with our vendor, will be installing new equipment in our data closets and replacing existing access points.  In some instances, we will be moving access points or installing a new access point where one did not exist previously.

Some users may experience intermittent wireless connectivity issues for less than one hour as we upgrade your local access point. Wired connectivity will not be impacted. As always, we will attempt to conduct our work with as minimal intrusion on workspaces as possible.

USAN is very interested in addressing issues related to this project. If you experience an issue with your wireless connection, please contact the University Technical Assistance Center at (973)-443-8822 and ask them to direct your ticket to USAN.
