In a Tech Alert sent on December 19, 2022, we announced that macOS Ventura (macOS 13) is approved to install on all FDU Mac computers. Since then, Ventura has been widely adopted and has become the standard for all University-owned macOS computers. At this time, we are asking that all remaining FDU macOS devices are upgraded to Ventura. As your machine has been identified as running an older version of macOS, you will begin to receive the following prompt regarding the update.

Please click “Update Now” to launch a task that will walk you through the update. Although you can defer the installation by clicking “Not Yet“, you will continue to be periodically prompted. Our recommendation is to install the update at your earliest possible convenience. If the update is not installed by Thursday, March 23rd, the prompt shown above will remain on your device until the update is complete.

During the process, you will be prompted to enter your device password as shown below.

The macOS update will then be downloaded.

…and installed.

Your machine will restart automatically to complete the update once the progress bar reaches 100%. The update can take up to an hour to complete and should be performed with the power adapter connected. Please save your work prior to starting the update.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact UTAC at (973)-443-8822. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
